Implementation and Commitment

This Memorandum of Understanding shall serve as the foundational charter for unity among Eritrean pro-democracy forces. The undersigned pledge to honor, uphold, and implement its provisions in good faith, thereby restoring justice, peace, and democracy for the Eritrean people.

Article V – Resolution on Conflicts

1. Internal Unity and Conflict Resolution

  • All Eritrean pro-democracy forces commit to resolving disputes through dialogue, negotiation, and peaceful mechanisms.
  • Political or strategic disagreements shall never justify division or hostility among participants.
  • A Conflict Resolution Council shall be established under this Charter to mediate disputes and preserve unity.

2. Commitment to Non-Violence

  • Violence shall never serve as a means of settling disputes within the movement or future governance.
  • All signatories pledge to resolve differences through democratic procedures, not force.

3. Protection of Diversity

  • Eritrea’s multi-ethnic, multi-religious, and multi-regional diversity shall be protected from exploitation as a source of conflict.
  • Any form of hate speech, incitement, or discrimination shall be strictly prohibited.

4. Regional and International Peace

  • Eritrea commits to peaceful coexistence and constructive relations with neighboring countries.
  • Future conflicts shall be addressed through international law, dialogue, arbitration, and peaceful negotiation.
